Cerro Bayo is one of Neuquén’s most important winter centres and also one of the most beautiful places in The Andes.
There’s nothing like sliding on the snow with the magnificent Nahuel Huapi’s scene in front of our eyes.
When to arrive
The winter season starts at the end of June and extends to October. The centre offers all the services with the warmth that is already a distinctive feature of Cerro Bayo. An excellent moment to enjoy events, ski competitions and the traditional Fridays’s descent with torches.
Bayo Snowboard Club
It has been working from 1992 and there, a group of rider young people offers information and advising about the most suitable runs according to the level. There are also services of adjustment and advising about equipments, guided excursions out of the run, classes and equipment rent.
All the services. In Cerro Bayo you’ll find parking lot, bathrooms, dressing rooms, coatrooms, drugstores, equipment, accessories and ski cloth rental and sale, ski school, kid school and nursery, gastronomy, first-aid station, snow-planer, maintenance shops and sleigh rental.
For ski practice, Cerro Bayo has excellent equipment: 3 double chair lifts, 5 ski lifts, 1 ski lift T.bar and 2 Baby-lifts. These means of elevation allow 4.500 skiers, on average per hour, to ascend. They can use 20 km. of ski runs –depending on their capacity- and enjoy a 200-hectare surface surrounded by deep snow, special for snowboarding lovers. During the winter season many traditional events are organized: the descent with torches, organized on Fridays, every time that climatic conditions allow it. There are also competitions of the Snowboard Argentine Circuit, whose calendar is arrayed as from the agreements with other ski centres, in which sportsmen are involved; besides, tests for beginners are organized.
