A place that will surprise you because of its beauty. An unavoidable circuit if you travel to the lakes’ zone.
You can start the journey from the Village’s dock and then walk towards the west. 100 m. far from there you will find, on the left-hand side, Primeros Pobladores Park and the institutional area; the Development Commission is located there.
On the high side of the green edge where there are a lot of rose bushes, Nuestra Señora de Villa Traful Chapel is placed, totally built in wood and stone.
Going on along a central street you pass in front of gastronomic establishments where you can taste some delicious cakes and savour typical food courses with trout. Around there you also go by a big gym, purveyors and ice cream shops, and when you descend toward the lake, you go by the Hostel School (children of rural areas live there), the kindergarten and the National Parks Office.
Once again on the coast, 200 m. away, on the right-hand side you arrive to Pescadores’s Lookout, from where you can have a beautiful panoramic sight of Lake Traful and its surroundings.
It is advisable to go on along provincial route 65 towards the east for about 500 m., passing in front of lodging establishments, up to a road that is on the right-hand side, go on along this one passing in front of the sweet sandwich-cookies factory and go through coihues forest to go over the high zone of the village. There you can observe constructions made in stone and wood with big gardens and parks. The journey finishes after 2500 m. and shortly after crossing the bridge of the Blanco Brook, taking provincial route 65 again to complete the circuit, coming back to the port.
If you don’t want to make this walk you can make some excursions, on foot or riding a horse, for example Coa Co Brook’s Waterfall and Blanco Brook’s Waterfall, Catarata Brook, Arrayan Port, Cerro Negro and Penitente Mount, Ñivinco Waterfall and Pichi Traful Hill.
