Arrayanes National Park
A pure Arrayanes woods, a surprising species in one of the only woods that are in the world.

Because of its exceptional natural characteristics and to guarantee its maximum protection, preventing any possibility of alteration or destruction, it was declared National Park in 1971, despite being included inside Nahuel Huapi National Park. Anyway, both form an administrative and management unit.
It is 12 km. far from Villa La Angostura and 20 km. from S. C. de Bariloche –by lake way-.

By lake:
Way you arrive through Lake Nahuel Huapi, up to Arrayanes Port. The Futaleufú Catamaran departs daily from La Angostura Port located on Mansa Bay.

By land:
Some metres from Angostura Port there’s a walking path of about 12 km. through which you can get to Arrayanes Woods.

Created in 1971 – Creation Law: National Law Nº 19.292 to protect one of the purest and most extensive Arrayan woods that exist in our country (the other forest is protected on Victoria Island. Nahuel Huapi National Park).
In Quetrihué Peninsula, close to Villa La Angostura little city, we find a unique landscape in the world, that has given to our Patagonia such international good reputation such as Cataratas del Iguazú or the Glaciar Perito Moreno.
It is without a doubt one of the most beautiful places in Argentina where we’ll find the purest and most extensive Arrayanes forests, a native tree of an outstanding beauty. 

Through the woods you’ll be able to go over the most interesting sectors. One of the most interesting points is the beautiful wooden house, immersed in the Arrayanes Woods, that has been largely reproduced in visitors’ photographs.
In this cabin it is possible to have tea, refreshments or purchase some handcrafts and souvenirs of this place.
At the end of the path you will find the Information Centre for the visitor, where you’ll be able to consult the park keepers in charged of the area. Another way to get to the Park is along a path that starts in Villa La Angostura. You can go on foot or by bike, which can be rented in this city by the day. The path goes over all Quetrihué Peninsula and offers beautiful woods’ landscapes and panoramic sights of Lake Nahuel Huapi. In addition to the famous Arrayanes Woods it is advisable to make a short walk up to Patagua Lagoon where you will be able to contemplate an open environment and enjoy the rocky beaches at its side.

Abarca toda la Península de Quetrihué, en el extremo norte del Lago Nahuel Huapi.

No se permite acampar en este Parque Nacional, aunque sí en sitios próximos. El bosque de arrayanes cuenta con un sendero entablonado, sanitarios y un bar.
