Old way to Espejo
To know places with history. This road was opened between 1934 and 1936 according to National Parks’ works plan.

The circuit:

you can start your trip at the Municipal Tourism Office along Siete Lagos Av. You go up to Plaza de las Colectividades, turning right into Cacique Atraio St. 1000 m. from there, turning right there’s an ascent road to Cerro Belvedere. By this way, after 300 m. on the left-hand side you cross Paisil little brook, name of an inhabitant that lived near there. The rign road debouches in the same place.

To see:

if you go on along the old road towards Lake Correntoso, you go through Epu Lafquen Neighbourhood and you get to Correntoso Municipal Camping. Going by this beautiful and peaceful place you’ll find the old bridge over Correntoso River, one of the shortest rivers in the world, famous place for dry-fly fishing. There you can also find the Correntoso Hotel, as well as the old Correntoso Little Hotel, a wooden construction.
To go back to the old road you take the access to Correntoso Neighbourhood where there is tourist lodging in cabins. Then you get to Primo Capraro Small Square, name given in 1953 by the first Villa La Angostura’s Development Comission as a homage and recognition to this pioneer, promoter of the entire zone and one of the signatories of this locality’s charter. From the small square you go on 6 km. along the old road. You will cross Los Coihues Brook. Another interesting point is the bridge over La Rana Brook, also known as Los Suspiros Bridge that comes from a close lagoon with the same name, which remains frozen during winter months.
When you get to Lake Espejo’s Lookout, you can see Routes 231 to Chile and 234 or Siete Lagos’s Route that takes to San Martín de los Andes and Villa Traful.
