Waterfalls
Magnificent falls to be discovered inside the forest. Visiting these Andean’s nooks is an unforgettable experience.

Inacayal Waterfall
An incredible 50-meter fall is waiting for us after ascending along a road through caña colihue trees, lengas, colourful flowers and the sound of woodpeckers and rayitos.
Leaving from Tourism Office, and if you make the journey on foot, 5 to 6 hours are needed to arrive (depending on the group). By car, you can only get to the lookout. From there you have to walk less than an hour to get to the waterfall. While we walk, we can find comfortable sighting places, with space for 10 persons at a time, from where you can see Lake Nahuel Huapi, the Cordillera with its most clearly visible peaks and part of Villa La Angostura’s urban area.
Although it is frequently visited by tourists that go on their own, it is better to contract a qualified guide to discover and know the flora, fauna and geography of the place. During the journey it is possible to see michay and calafate, fern variety (peteridófitas), violeta (viola maculata) that is usually together with lenga.

By bike:
you arrive riding up to two kilometres before the waterfall (time: 2 hours from the crossroads), you leave the bike in this place and continue on foot (time: 30 minutes).
The total slope is about 200 m. and the degree of difficulty is IV.
This circuit can be made during all the year, but it is not commendable in winter because of the accumulated snow that makes it difficult to walk and to see the path.

Santa Ana and Dora waterfalls.
You get there taking Route 231 and you get access to the waterfalls passing the Argentinean Customs, 2 km., and before crossing the Pantojo Brook, there’s a path that goes through a ñirantal (big group of ñires). After a 30 or 40-minutes hike you will find a bifurcation leftwards that takes us to Dora Waterfall.
If you take again the road to the bifurcation, leftwards you go to Santa Ana Waterfall.
It is a 50-meter fall that goes down among vegetation that grows around, sprinkled by its waters. It is possible to arrive at a basaltic rock cavern that is behind the water curtain. There’s a path to access there.
During the journey you can appreciate all the splendour and beauty of autochthonous species: coihues, cañas colihue, canelos, taiques, in addition to a wide variety of mosses, ferns and creepers that upholster big fallen trunks forming fabulous natural works.
The Cerro Mirador (1823 m.) and the Cerro Pantojo (1897 m.), cone of an ancient volcano, are two valid alternatives for other tours around this zone.

Diana Waterfall

It is at the northeast of Villa La Angostura. It hasn’t got signposted access, but you can arrive there via National Route 231, as you cross the bridge over Pireco Brook, the access is on the right-hand side. The waterfall is 25 minutes from there.

Río Bonito waterfall
It is advisable going with a guide.
A spectacular excursion to know the magnificent 35-meter fall that drops into an emerald green ditch and runs over a land fissure constituted by basaltic rocks. The access road is one kilometre before arriving at Cerro Bayo Ski Centre, via Provincial Route 66. You can only go on foot. It is a 200-meter journey that lasts 50 minutes.
